I've got a customer with an older GE wall that needs an Oven Thermostat.

The part is NLA (WB21X5209)

Anyone know of a universal Robertshaw (or similar) Oven Thermostat kit?

To eliminate:

Musty odor

L-O-N-G cycle times

Dingy/yellowing whites

Suds error message

Slow spin speeds

Intermittent water leaks (from rear of washer)

And other annoying symptoms which vary brand-to brand.

Read below:

The *correct* amount of HE (High Efficiency) detergent that should be used in any front load or agitatorless top load washer with tub sizes 3.0 cu ft and larger is as follows:

HE: (2) Tablespoons Per Wash Load

HE 2X: (1) Tablespoon

HE 3X: (1) Teaspoon

Perform a TUB CLEAN CYCLE every (4) months.

Use: "Tide Washing Machine Cleaner"

If you don't specifically need the extra long 62" capillary tube and can get by with only 34" then the WB21X5208 will work, (it's exactly the same except for cap. tube length).

There are four of the WB21x5208 listed on Ebay, (3-new, 1-used).

The one used one is outrageously priced at $200 and one of the new ones is really ridiculous at $425.

The other two new ones: (Buy-it-Now)$72.88 + FREE Ship or Make Offer and (Bid-Auction, 1 day left)$149.99 + FREE Ship

EDITED: just realized that the $72.88 one isn't really a WB21x5208 (has that listed in the body of the description but the part# in the listing header doesn't sub to a wb21x5208).

same as
BFS GEM GR209 (may also be NLA)

MyPartShelf.com has 5 of the WB21X5209 listed, all but one say call for pricing - the one that shows a price $300.00

I've found that what is listed on MyPartShelf is almost never there - people are very bad about updating their listings when things are sold.

I found as a substitute part# 5330-001 THERMOSTAT SAME AS WB21X5208 at PartStore.com for $82.94+FREE Ship

It has a 68" capillary tube, it's also available at RepairClinic $75.25 or ProSupplyCo.com at $41.39 + shipping, (E-Bay has a new one listed at $35+FREE Ship or Make Offer).

You may have to do some rewiring to make the Robert Shaw 5330-001 work, it appears to only have two terminals instead of four like the GE parts have.  Here's a link to the spec sheet that comes with the 5330-001

Thanks guys.

Called Marcone to order the 5330-001---they recommended the TJ 5430-175 ($65)---so I went with that:)
