Greetings Oh Wise Ones...
I need help figuring out what is going on with our Asko dryer. It quit working on me two months ago, middle of a load, and the black button on the back did not pop out. I have had to replace fuses on this dryer before, so I got some more fuses and after replacing one, it would click and then nothing...apparently it was blowing out the fuse as soon as i replaced it.
The fuse hub was looking a little rough, so we thought that may be the problem. I ordered a new fuse hub assembly from repairclinic.com , but it is on back order until April. In the meantime, by husband decided to put in an in-line fuse to get us by. The same thing happened with the fuses placed in the new in line fuse holder, they would blow immediatly.
The new fuse holder came with a 20amp fuse, which we put in as an experiment. Oddly, it runs on the 20amp, and has been for two weeks....but...the timer does not advance and the dryer never gets very warm, taking about twice as long to dry a load.
Is this a timer issue? Thermostat?
I realize that running a 20amp fuse is not a long term fix, so I'm hoping to get a new part on the way asap.
Thank you! Humbly,
