GE Fridge

Hello All:

I am in need of the manual for the following GE Refrigerator Model Number:

GSHF5MGXCEBB

Problems:

No water dispensing, no ice making, no auger motion, and the digital readout on the freezer door is flashing 4 zero's (00 00).

I have done the following:

Split the water line at the connector under the left front of the fridge and depressed the dispenser handle and it did nothing. I blew through the other end and it is clear, i.e. no frozen line.

I trouble shot the icemaker and found the molex connector was not pushed in all the way connecting the icemaker to the fridge. Problem solved water valve working to the icemaker and icemaker cycles fine.

I took apart the dispenser area and checked the micro switch and it is fine. The solenoid appeared to be fine as well. I put it all back together. I also looked in the ice bin and cleared out some stuck cubes.

At this point I plugged the fridge back in and everything came on appropriately. In fact, I was able to cycle the dispenser auger worked fine, I got it to give me water when dispenser was depressed, and the temp readout was reading fine.  5 minutes later same problem, flashing zeros, no water from dispenser and no auger motion.

I looked over the main control board on the right rear, albeit much closer this time and found what appeared to be a darker brown possible heat burn area on one part of the main control board. I believe I have found the culprit.

BTW, the compressor is not overheated, the fridge and freezer sections are appropriate temps.

I am looking forward to the next lessons for the Appliance Tech Bootcamp.

Appliance Guru any recommended resources for brushing up on circuit tracing for Appliance Repair.

I am happy to be here. I am in Vegas running Stanton Appliance Company.

Respect and thank you.

Hey nursingguy, glad to have you aboard. However we have to do a little housekeeping here. Remember, as stated in the info about this forum, this forum is for manual requests only. Questions regarding your appliance must be asked in the appropriate forum and in this case that would be the Kitchen Appliances Forum. Simply start another topic in that forum and cut and paste your questions you posted here. But don't ask for manuals in that forum, only questions. Thanks! We'll see if we can track down thus manual for ya, thanks!

the closest I could find so far is this manual for disassembly and mainboard info http://appliantology.org/files/file/16-ge-arctica-pro%EF%AC%81le-side-by-side-refrigerators-service-manual/

Your fridge has interface controls at the dispenser and not in the ff section so info regarding on board self-diagnostics will not apply. Your testing must be done at the mainboard. This mainboard diagnostic aid is also helpful http://appliantology.org/files/file/45-ge-refrigerator-muthaboard-diagnostic-manual/

this wiring diagram is the closest that covers your model but not as useful as the previous linked documents http://appliantology.org/files/file/497-ge-gshl6kg-refrigerator-minimanual/
