      All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological. 
      We have a special session planned for this one. Instead of the usual Show 'n Tell on a technical topic, we're going to post tech sheets in the comments to this Calendar Event (scroll down to see what's posted so far) and ask specific questions that can only be answered by reading the tech sheet. If you at least try to answer the questions beforehand, you'll get a lot more out of it. The tech sheet and the questions are posted in the comments section below.
      Your mission, if you should choose to accept it, is to check out the questions for each one and try to answer them ahead of time. Then come to the Dojo to see how well you did!

Looking for a service manual for a Kenmore frig. 25369802892. I looked in downloads but it didnt show any. We replaced the defrost & thermostat & it is still running to cold in frig. Freezes everything & it is nearly in the off position for both the freezer & frig. Hoping that trouble shoot will shed some light.  Thank you.

Moving Freezer control to a warmer setting will open the damper, dropping cold air out of freezer... so where will that cold air go? That's right.... into the fresh food compartment making it colder.... simple mechanical damper door. Imagine you have two rooms cooled by the same window air conditioner (evaporator) . there is a door between the two that's half way open (damper in normal position set by freezer control knob) . If you want the room with the air conditioner warmer... open the door wider... guess what happens to the adjoining room?

The thermostat in the fridge section is like the controls on the air conditioner. If you replaced the temp controller, check and adjust damper. The only other thing that can cause this is an evap motor turning the wrong direction and a refrigerant leak.

As for thw manual. You should already have it.... 253 prefix means it is made by Frigidaire and I am certain you downloaded everything in my Frigidaire survival kit... right? okay, maybe not...
