Jenn-Air Refrigerator Mod #12830912 ice maker slowly stopped making ice

5 posts in this topic

Owner reports that the indoor ice maker started to fail by the ice cubes getting "hung up" in the "tray" the owner could reach in and "jingle" the cube loose and pull it down. The unit eventually just stopped making ice altogether. The indoor water dispenser works. Does the fact that it slowly failed to, first eject the ice and then completly stopping making ice suggest a particular problem? Does this Jenn-Air product use the Whirlpool Modual ice maker? If water is coming into the ID water dispenser does that mean the supply is working for the ice maker?

Thanks for your help.

Bad model number. It should start with the letter J, two more letters and then numbers. It looks like the owner of this refrigerator gave you the part number for the sales information tag.

Sorry,

This Jenn-Air Refrigerator apparently has a Maytag Model Number (Maytag JBL2088HES)

Try putting the ice maker in manual harvest (T to H) and see if it cycles properly.  If not cycle, the ice maker is bad Part number: AP4135008

Part number: AP4135008

If it does cycle, the ice maker may still be bad-- the internal thermostat may be stuck open.  There's another test to check for that but I forget what it is.  Maybe one of the other techs can jump in.

If the cubes are under-sized, then check the water supply pressure and/or replace the water inlet valve.  Part number: AP4080917

Part number: AP4080917
