Which window air conditioner has window fan function?

I need a window air conditioner for a small bedroom in New Hampshire. We don't need air conditioning every day, so we need a unit that can also work as a window fan and bring in outside air. And it has to be fairly quiet (I have a Friederich Kuhl unit in my mother's house and it's great... but the Kuhl series can't bring in outside air).

Friederich has a CP 6000-BTU unit that allegedly has an outside air fan setting (according to the vague wording of the Friederich web site, I have emailed them to check). The CP units are supposed to be noisier than the Kuhls... is there a better choice here? Thanks for any info! -Bill

Telomerase,

I certainly hope my friends at Friedrich customer care were able to help you out.

I know I'm 9 months late on this post but let me clear something up for you.

The BTU size unit you are looking for is not available with the stale air exhaust / Fresh air intake option. You would have to look at something like this SS08N10B the small chassis and above haves the fresh air option. Not only do you get one of the most durable and respected units around it also has the capability to be controlled via a wifi adapter. Always a Kuhl plus.

Take care I hope you stayed cool over the summer!
