The dishwasher counter stalls at 1, and seems to keep running. When you open the door there is still sudsy water in the bottom of the machine. You can press the CANCEL/RESET combination of buttons and the the machine will pump out the water and then stop, so it appears the pump works fine. It seems to be hanging at the end of the wash cycle, as evidenced by the suds still in the remaining water.

A "1" in the display window is a fault code for a water heating failure.  Usually, 99 percent of the time, it's due to a burnt heater relay on the electronic control module.

Thank you, Scott Wolf. Do you know if there is a schematic, service manual, etc., available that would show my repairman how to access and install this module. He is a knowlegeable repairman, but has never worked on a Bosch dishwasher.
