HI All,

I've got a Maytag Atlantis washer that is making a grinding noise only when agitating.  It is working fine during the other cycles. The noise is coming from under the wash tub.  What steps should I take to isolate the issue?  I read a number of threads that reccomend replacing the agitator, but the sound is definitely coming from below.

Sounds like a transmission issue.
