I have a Kitchenaid KBFA20ERSS01 french door refrigerator. About a year ago the ice maker stopped working and I replaced the water inlet valve to fix the problem.

Recently the tube that goes into the ice maker detached spontaneously so the wood floor there has been getting watered every time the ice maker was attempting to fill. There are tenants living there and they didn't notice the problem until the floors started to cup - probably about a month later!

I'd like to permanently remove the ice maker from the freezer to avoid any future problems since it's now in a rental unit. I'm definitely not interested in fixing the unit for them. I want to make sure that removing the ice maker unit along with the wiring harness will definitely shut off all water to the freezer. I'd like to keep the water turned on for the fridge, but make sure that the inlet valve will not try to send water to the freezer.

Thanks!
