I need the service manual for this washer.  I looked but couldn't find it.

Thanks

Any help would be appreciated.  I need it for Monday!  Washer starts to fill,  door locks,  stops filling in a few seconds, door unlocks and gives the F28.  Coustomer thinks it means low water level.  My reserch shows more like mcu or ccu.  He says he thinks an electrical surge caused his problem.  The manual would help.

thanks

Couple of hangups, Doc...

1) I'm not finding anything with that model number, even at the Sears site.

2) It's often difficult to cross over even a valid Kenmore model number to its OEM equivalent.

What about for the 11049962603.  That may cross to something, could you try it.  I know this is a Whirlpool.  Do you have anything that  might help?

Are you saying you posted the wrong model number? Or are you saying it's the correct model number but are suggesting try another number that's close?

Can you verify the correct model number of the machine you're working on?

If the model number, (110.49962603), you gave in post#5 is the correct number the techsheet should be W10217131

This Amana/?Maytag model whould be the same basic machine as the Kenmore, (it uses the exact same UI and CCU).

NFW7500V*00 or NFW7500V*01 (The * is the color code "M"-Burgundy or "W"-White).

The way to find a matching name brand unit equal to a Kenmore.

1) look up a part for the Kenmore that should be somewhat unique, (IE: timer, UI, CCU)

2) look up that part on one of the sites that show models that use that part

   http://www.appliancepartspros.com

   http://www.apdepot.com

   http://www.partstore.com

   http://www.a-1appliance.com

3) now, if the Kenmore is not some one off manufactured for only a few Kenmore models you should have an equivalent name brand model to possibly locate a full service manual for the unit.

I posted the right model number the 110.49962503.  When I tried to look it up in APP it gave me a choice of parts for the 110.49962603.  That's why I thought it may be close enough to help me.  I haven't been there yet, going tomorrow, will check model number for correctness.  In the mean time I'm shooting blind, I haven't even seen it.  I'll let you know what I find out tomorrow.

Thanks

Thanks for that tip Willie,  good to know.  That tech sheet number you reference looks good.  I'm going to go with that and see what I find.  Thanks for all your help, I'll let you know.

If you didn't read the model number yourself, (received it over the phone from the customer), then most likely it has been misread by whoever gave it to you.  110.49962503 doesn't come up just as Samurai originally told you.

Whould have been very easy for someone to read a 6 as a 5 if not looking closely enough.

OK, went out today and found it was a 110 49962603.  The customer gave me the wrong number.  The tech sheet you gave me was kind of short and incomplete but it helped a lot.  I was able to check old codes and only the F28 was coming up.  It would not go into test mode it would stop after the door lock and 2 sec fill with unlock and lock again and lite up the add clothes light and give the F28.  I tested for power to the mcu from the ccu and got it for a few seconds the quit and give F28.  Checked power at mcu and got it.  At this point I figured it was the mcu so I took it out and turned it over and sure enough it had a couple burnt traces and a burnt cap.  Parts are hard to get down here and I can get an mcu for a Whirlpool model WFW9400SZ02.  It looks the same and I was wondering if any one can tell me if it will work to replace mine.  Mine takes the  8183196.  I can't find which one the Whirlpool takes.  If it takes the same one or not.  Also could use the complete service manual it it's available.

Thanks

The WFW9400SZ02 looks like it should use the same MCU as the Kenmore model you are working on that needs MCU part# 8183196.

If you want to verify this do a search on model number WFW9400SZ on this site

http://www.a-1appliance.com

There shows to be 6 versions of this washer, (00,01,02,03,04 & A10).  00-04 all show to take the same MCU and CCU and UI, on the A10 version the parts change - If you look up these versions on APP they don't show the MCU on the parts list for the 01,02,03 versions for some reason.
