I have a Whirlpool Modular Icemaker that can't dump it's ice. I think it has to do w/ the heating element on the bottom, but when I use a jumper to initiate a harvest cycle as a test, the bottom does seem to get quite hot. As the icemaker fills w/ ice, small sparks shot out of the gearbox:yikes:. None of the gears or plastic parts are stripped or broken. Do you have any idea what maybe wrong honorable Samurai?

Sparks are not good, possibly a fried contact in the module or a bad thermostat. From what I hear, a complete new I/M is not much more expensive than the module itself.
Mad Mac....Pray to God he's out there....somewhere.

I wouldn't screw around with it-- if it were mine I'd buy a new icemaker.

Sparks and wet appliances...:poison:
