Ancient Frigidaire Dryer

2 posts in this topic

I have a 1975 Frigidaire dryer model DIAG that still works great.  However, the rear seal came loose and fell into the drum.  I tried RepairClinic for a part, but it's been discontinued.  I can fabricate a new seal out of felt seal material and will have to obtain some hi-temp adhesive for attachment.  It looks like I will have to remove the drum to glue the seal in place.  My question is will your drum removal photos basically pertain to my old machine, or is there another procedure for removing the drum on my machine?

The procedures will still apply... in spirit. Hey, it's a dryer, how hard can it be? (HINT: not very).

For a felt seal, you can buy the felt kit for a Whirlpool dryer and cut it to size. It's all the same shi'it and it's held on with feel-good glue. See this page for fine points on using the high temp adhesive.
