My Frigidaire side by side refrigerator is leaking from the water filter. When I try to get water from door it comes out filter. I have just replaced filter and still having the same problem. Also it is not making ice. What can I do to fix this? I really can not afford to get new one at this time.

I'm not sure exactly it's leaking at your filter but maybe your o-ring is worn that seals the filter housing.

But would this also stop water from coming out the door?

If all the pressure was coming out of the filter then I would think so.

Most likely, at some point, the filter housing froze and cracked, this is very common with this style filter.
