I have taken this apart following the manufactures directions. Problem is I can not get the bottom bearing out. It broke into pieces, and the outer ring of the bearing is stuck. Nothing is getting it out. It almost seems like the betting is part of the metal plate on on the outer tub. Any help on how to remove the bearing (I did not buy removal rod, nor do I have the money to)

Use a Dremmle with a cut off wheel and cut a slit in bearing outer race. Then pry out. For those of you trying this repair in the future, don't just beat on one spot of the bearing. Go from 3 o'clock to 9 to 6 to 12. You get the idea. This greatly increases successful bearing removal. We do a lot of these, and having the bearing grenade sometimes happens to the best of us. Dremmel is a life saver with a high quality cut off wheel
