All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological: bidness, customers, tools, troubleshooting, flavorite brewski, whatever. Webcams and microphones are open and live!
This workshop is also a great time for any students at Master Samurai Tech to bring any and all questions about the coursework. We're happy to walk through any concepts you're having trouble with. Think of it like office hours with your teachers.
If you have a specific appliance problem you'd like us to talk about, post it here! We need a problem statement and a PDF of the tech sheet or schematic so we can all see it on screen share. If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form.
Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.

Kenmore Washing Machine Model 110-92597200

Serial number CE 310 3481

The washer won't advance through the progression, it get stuck with a tub full of water, will not advance from wash to rinse, or rinse to spin on the normal wash setting, but it appears to work fine on the Permanent Press and Ultra Clean cycles.

Is your assessment that it's the timer that's bad?

There is continuity at the timer motor...

Thank you!

I would first check to see if your lid switch is functional. If not, the machine will just sit there when it should be draining and spinning and advancing to the next part of the cycle.Part number: 285671

It tests for open when not depressed, and continuity when pressed.

Permanent Press Cycles and Ultra Clean cycles advance fine.

Just the Regular cycle...it goes through the progression, but hangs on the spin after the rinse.

So, lid switch OK and fill valve OK.   Check for voltage at the motor when it "hangs-up" as these three speed models can have motor/speed selector issues... it may only run on the lower speed windings.

If you have no 120VAC to the motor during the failure, I would agree with the Timer as the issue.
