what's the minimum capacity washer that will clean a king/ca king comforter or bedspread?

That would be real hard to say since all king sized anything can be very different weights.  On your washer measure the case from side to side.  If it is 24" it is a 14 pounder, and it it is 27" it is an 18 pounder.  But you will need to decide if it will hold these items without overloading the washer and breaking the coupler by how heavy this item is.  Note, 14 or 18 pounds means the weight of the items in the washer wet, not dry.
