Good morning - I have a Kenmore Side-by-side that dispense ice but not water - model 596-57582790.  Any ideas as to the problem on this one.

Thanks a bunch

Carole

You could have a defective fill valve, a frozen line or tank, or an electrical problem in the dispenser assy itself.  Or a wiring problem to the disp area to or in the door.  Would start with checking the water valves first.

Your water inlet valve will be a double, as shown here.  You'll need to use your multimeter to check the continuity of the water dispenser valve coil.

The valve could go bad internally, not opening when power is applied to the coil.  Best to test this coil with at test cord direct to see if it opens and allows water thru it.
