Dishwasher blues ADP5966

Can you help me with my dishwasher problem, (Whirlpool ADP 5966 sixth sense)
This morning the light in the button started to flash twice, then again twice and so on. However although there is a noise coming from the machine, there is no washing sound and the program indicator will only turn to the first wash. I have looked and searched on the web but cannot find anything about it
Our honorable dishwasher has started to flash on the button. The button light flashes twice - flash flash
No longer do the waters run and the arms spin, all that happens now is that there is an engine noise but no water noise.
Haiku of woe for my whirlpool
May, month of joy, but wait
the whirlpool dies, cherry blossom, drifting down
