Help! I am so frustrated! Last week our dryer (Kenmore model #: 110.96566200) started getting making a loud humming noise while in the middle of the cycle. When I opened the dryer to check inside it wouldn't turn back on for 20 minutes and the noise continued. I waited until my hubby got home from work and we took the dryer apart. We were unable to get the fan off, but we did unattach the belts from the motor and the motor rotated freely and without the humming noise. But once we put everything back together the loud noise resumed and it seems to have problems turning the drum, but only half the time. The dryer will run for ten minutes but shuts off. We're totally confused. The belts and wheels look great and the motor rotated freely without the belts. So it doesn't look like a motor problem, but what else could be causing the loud humming noise? I just checked it again and the drum is not turning but the loud noise is present as soon as I touch the start button, so it's got to be coming from the motor. Help me please!!!!
