Fisher Paykel Dish Drawers dd603 Top drawer Always ends up with water in it.

14 posts in this topic

It seems that whenever I run my normal large size dishwasher or the lower drawer on my Fisher Paykel the top drawer on the FisherPaykel ends up with dirty water in it.

It used to be fine and about 3 weeks ago after two+ years of service this started happening.

The three dishwashers all drain into the sinks drianage system and I see the FisherPaykel has a Y type connector to the drain.

Could some drain valve on my upper drawer be stuck open allowing overflow from the others to seep in?

Thanks!

There is a small flap valve (Part #525414P) that is about the size of a dime that isnt closing properly. Best bet is to replace the valves and try to get a DUAL air gap in its place where you can hook up each drawer to its own hose on the air gap.

I am new to this fix-it-myslef kind of thing - where do i find that part and a diagram as to how to remove/replace it?

Thanks a ton!

What does that valve do?

Thanks again.

Hi. I'm having same problem. Did you ever find instructions and a source for the part?

Thank you

Yes - I actually still have the replacement part as it was not needed.

After I got the part (a little flapper valve - rubber circle) and looked at the instructions on where to place it I disconnected the drain hose from the top drawer.

When the hose was diconnected and I removed the valve some piece of pebble or rice or something rather hard and small was stuck on the edge of the valve.

I rinsed it off and put it back and all has been well ever since!!!

Thank you! I had tried the other online parts sites, but none had F-P parts. Sears...who would'a thought it!

Don't make my mistake - take it apart first - before ordering the part.

It could just be some piece of fluff stuck to the flapper.

it takes very little time to pop off the hose, check the valve and put it back.

save yourself the money!

Gee whiz!  Sears had the DD603 parts and diagrams two days ago, now they don't even know what a DD603 is! Could FP be behind the disappearance?

The F&P seems to be hit or miss with Sears.
