Is it a smart drive or gentle annie / ecs?  A smart drive will do this if a water valve is faulty or if the out of balance switch is stuck on.  Check the valves buy putting onto hot wash then press start, if the motor starts and stops but no water comes in, try on cold.  If it comes in on cold then the hot valve is faulty and vice versa as long as the water supply is good.  To check the oob switch, reach into the back rh cnr between the bowl and the top, there will be a lever , move it towards the back then the front  a couple of times and you should hear a faint clicking , if not, then the switch could be corroded and jammed and needs to be replaced.

Ahhhh..... the first smart drive there ever was..........Does the motor turn as the water pulses in?  And when it stops and beeps which lights flash?  (The inlet valves are the things the hoses screw onto at the back of the W/M and are connected to the motor controller under the top console)

To test inlet valves -

1. Turn machine OFF at the front panel

2.Hold down the Water Temp Down button and press the POWER button. Release buttons. You are in Diagnostic mode. Write down the LEDS which are lit across the top row of progress LEDS. and post back.

3. Press Water Temp Down to test the Cold Valve, press Water Temp Up to test Hot Valve

4. Press Regular button to test Pump.

Turm machine Off and then on to Reset.
