Cosmetic repair of stove top

10 posts in this topic

This may be off base, but the top of my gas range got the finish chipped off a bit yesterday (about the size of a dime). The repair clinic has a new one (90 bucks), but can I repair this long enough to sell the house?

Any and all ideas are welcome!

Thanks!

Kelly

Sir, as this does not involve the actual operation of the unit I did not post that info. Sorry. For the record, Kenmore free standing gas range model #362.75322003.

We cannot see what type of top is on this range without the model number, could have been ceramic???  As this is just a normal G.E made range with the Kenmore name on it just get a bottle of touch up paint to match the color of your range and the chip will not be as visable if you do the repair correctly. From what I could tell this is white???   This will change over time to tan because of the heat from the oven and burners, but should look nice for quite awhile. Leave the paint there for the new owners so they can re-do it as needed.  Be sure to get the OEM paint as it is what will match the color from the factory closer than stuff bought at a regular store.

Wondered about the sir, but if there can be a "boy named Sue"  guess there can be a Sir named Pegi...Is ok, am used to the people who call my business calling me sir as they are not used to having a female tech in this industry.  When they say  thank you Sir, I just say you'r welcome.  They are embaresed when they come in and find out different.  Thank you for taking the time to visit my web site, that was very nice.   Pegi
