Wife comes home this afternoon and says, Honey I bought us a new dryer.    Receipt only says 26 66982 KME Dryer  SALE  $600.00 plus some change.  All she knows is it's a Kenmore and my mom bought Kenmore all my life.   Am I in trouble.    Is it a GE, Whirlpool,  who knows?

that model number does not look right, will need 3 numbers then a   .    then 7 or 8 more numbers please.  Will probably need to get this off of the dryer??  the 5 numbers are just a stock number, the 26 will probably be the source for the parts, but not sure what that goes to.

26 in "S***s-speak" means Division 26, laundry products.

the 66982 is the stock number that sears retail uses, i'll bet my dollars to donuts that the model # is 110-6698200 which is a whirlpool product- heaven knows i've been wrong before,so if the number is 417-66982, or 970-66982,it is a fridgidaire built unit.
