All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological.
We have a special session planned for this one. Instead of the usual Show 'n Tell on a technical topic, we're going to post tech sheets in the comments to this Calendar Event (scroll down to see what's posted so far) and ask specific questions that can only be answered by reading the tech sheet. If you at least try to answer the questions beforehand, you'll get a lot more out of it. The tech sheet and the questions are posted in the comments section below.
Your mission, if you should choose to accept it, is to check out the questions for each one and try to answer them ahead of time. Then come to the Dojo to see how well you did!
Who: This workshop is only available to tech members at Appliantology.
When: Saturday, April 27 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.
      Where: Online via Zoom

Fault Code - Control Panel

CTChampion

Recommended Posts

I have a Fedders window air conditioner model A6D24E7B.  Sometime during the night it powered off and shows "E3" in the display.  I can unplug/replug the unit and attempt to turn it on, but it only runs for a couple of seconds before powering off again.

I called Fedders Customer Service and they told me the code referred to the control panel.  My question is, can I replace the control panel, or would it be more beneficial to just get another unit?  I didn't buy this unit, so I don't think it would still be under warranty.

Can anyone advise me on what I should do?

Thanks!

Hello

Did tech support say anything else? Thats it? Replace the control panel. If thats their answer then I guess thats what has to B done.

Now its up to U. I would compare the cost of a new panel to the cost of a new unit. Also do you feel comfortable changing out the panel or would U need to call in someone.

Basically U need to decide if the unit is worth the time-trouble-cost- of repair compared to replacement.

Hope this helps:)
