All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological.
We have a special session planned for this one. Instead of the usual Show 'n Tell on a technical topic, we're going to post tech sheets in the comments to this Calendar Event (scroll down to see what's posted so far) and ask specific questions that can only be answered by reading the tech sheet. If you at least try to answer the questions beforehand, you'll get a lot more out of it. The tech sheet and the questions are posted in the comments section below.
Your mission, if you should choose to accept it, is to check out the questions for each one and try to answer them ahead of time. Then come to the Dojo to see how well you did!
Who: This workshop is only available to tech members at Appliantology.
When: Saturday, April 27 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.
      Where: Online via Zoom
      How:
Click here to go to the forum topic with the registration link. If you're interested, register now. Arrive a couple minutes early to make sure your connection is working. Majestic Freestanding Gas Fireplace

Crouching Tiger

Is there anyone out there who may have a manual with a parts list for this unit?  The blower motor is seized and the burner won't light but the pilot will.  I haven't tested the thermocouple or gas valve yet but I definitely need a blower motor.  I tried the Vermont Castings website for a manual but the unit is to old for any listings.  The unit belongs to my sister and she had some moron in to fix it and he bypassed some saftey switches and still never got it to work right, so now I am stuck with fixing it.  Anything would be appreciated - I'm guessing the unit is 10- 15 years old and was purchased in Canada.

:dude: I don't have any idea where to get a manual except from the manufacturer, but you should be able to replace any of the parts. Some retrofit may be in order.

The manufacturer doesn't make the motor, so you should be able to get a replacement. A great source for replacement motors is FASCO. Get all the specs off the motor label and give them a call. You'll need:

Voltage,#of speeds,Shaft size,Rotation,Horsepower, frame size, amps and any model or part numbers to cross reference.

While you're at it ask them for their booklet "FASCO Facts, Time-Saving Motor Replacement Tips". It's an easy to follow crash couse in motors.

Hope this helps

Hello

You might try your local W.W. Grainger or >>>Johnstone Supply<< might not sell to U. wholesale only--  with your motor specs. As far as the thermocouple, hey there cheap enough. If your gonna do the mtr that is. At least U'd know its good if it still fails to light.

Hope this helps:)
