I have a Kitchen Aid dishwasher model #: kud1230bwho

The door on my dishwasher slams shut. I've gotten used to it, but my husband hasn't and has broken a few glasses from the door whacking the top rack. He wants it fixed.

Soooo, I took the kick plate off and I see how the springs keep the door from falling down, but I don't see anything that will inhibit the closing of the door. I looked at the parts diagram, but still don't see how this is accomplished.

Any suggestions?

Believe it or not I have a headache.

There is a door spring on each side. One end connects to the door hinge, the other is hooked to one of a series of notches along the lower frame rail. You can adjust the door closing by moving the springs to different notch. Move toward the front to lighten the door tension, move to the rear to increase tension. Trial and error will get you there.

Thanks Nick,

I tried moving it to different spots and it worked!
