#249536 PLD3465REC0 crazy frigidaire dishwasher intermittent "Er" and "PF...

Posted by Comstock_Services on 05 March 2013 - 08:26 AM

After checking the connection, I'd verify power to the board, while pressing the buttons. In the past have had moisture mess up the touch pads, but it hasn't been that common lately.

#248545 KitchenAid KEHC379JBL4 Combo wall oven microwave trouble

Posted by Comstock_Services on 15 February 2013 - 01:20 PM

My best advice for getting the microwave out is to remove the 2 side trim peices, then with the breaker off, remove the control pannel, and then remove the upper and lower black plastic vent pannels to gain access to the screws that secure the microwave, have someone help you pull it out from the cavity, there will be a long green wire, that attaches to the back of the microwave, dont cut it unscrew it from the back with your helper holding the microwave. If the door springs arent busted I'd leave well enough alone for now.W0110069-00006.png

#248543 Frigidiare French Door - Ice Maker Not Working

Posted by Comstock_Services on 15 February 2013 - 01:00 PM

OK, I checked the thermistors at the back of the refrigerator. The Ice Mold thermistor reads 69.2, which equates to -2 degrees. The evaporator thermistor reads 16.6 which equates to +54 degrees.

It looks like the Evaporator thermistor may be bad, you should be reading colder then +54 degrees on the evap for the Ice maker, especially if there are cubes formed in the mold.

I think this is the part you needhttp://www.repaircli...ber=FPHB2899LF1

then I would guess that it has something to do with the thermistor, even though you said it checks good, with your meter. It's possible that the board is not reading the proper input from the thermistor, so I would ask you to check the resistance of the thermistor at the ice maker control, on the back. This is just to once and for all eliminate the thermistor.

The basic principal is that the unit fills, makes the cubes, the thermistor senses the change in temp, and then the unit cycles the hot gas valve, and moves the mold to fill, The hot gas valve lets the evaporator warm up so that the cubes can drop, and fill the bucket, after the cubes drop the thermistor again senses the temp change and then shuts down the hot gas valve, and the process starts all over again.

BTW There are several repair kits for these IM, I just dont know the part numbers to order to get them going again. If someone was factory authorised they maybe could find and post the service updates, and that may help shed some more light on the subject.

#248398 Microwave turntable turns when door is opened

Posted by Comstock_Services on 13 February 2013 - 09:53 AM

Not really sure what to say here, so I'll bite.

1. Do you have a multi-meter, Digital, or Analog does not matter.

2. Can you take the cover off of the outside of the microwave?

3. Can you then Locate the Wiring Diagram (inside of the outer cover, or near the control board)?

4. Take a picture of the diagram and share it on the forums! Help us help you!

#248354 Yamabushi Training for Appliances and Difficult Customers

Posted by Comstock_Services on 12 February 2013 - 04:30 PM

I have learned more conversing, and asking questions from the other techs, and the brothers here, than any school could have taught me. Some of you proably think that I'm a backwards ass redneck being from Texas and all, but I still love that I can learn more helping someone than I could have gained in any school I have been to so far. So Thank you fellow Masters!  :pint1:

#248333 Preaching to customers to fix their Whirlpool Direct Drive Top Load Washers

Posted by Comstock_Services on 12 February 2013 - 12:28 PM

I preach about this to my customers, as well as the dependable care maytags, not the Norge crap. I have been raised up working on the direct drives, I cant belive that I know a place that has a wharehouse full of roper direct drives. I send customers there if they need a replacement for a machine.

#248328 Amana BB120te Fridge 38 degrees Freezer 24 degrees

Posted by Comstock_Services on 12 February 2013 - 11:17 AM

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but disconnecting the defrost heater, will not change anything, your evap should be frosted evenly. Reg is correct, approxamately every 8 hours the unit will go into defrost, but as long as it comes out of defrost there is really not a problem, with the defrost system. At about 40 degrees F it will open the defrost thermostat, and shut the heater down, to avoid burning up the cabinet, or the evaporator. In your case with the *leak of refregerant the compressor should be starting to get warmer, as Master Willie said, it could also be warm from trying to start, and not running. I thought I read that you checked with the Condenser fan motor stopped, and that it was still running. I stand by my original comment that you have either a leak or a restriction, in the sealed system, as long as the compressor is *running*.

Sorry for the post being so long.

Looks to me as if at this moment from thses pictures you have a sealed system problem, but you will need to wait a couple more hours to verify this. Just check the frost pattern again, if it hasnt changed, to where the frost is uniform across the entire evaporator, you will need to find the reason that the refrigerant is not cycling through the evaporator. Possibly a leak or restriction.

I assume that you mean the compressor, not the condenser, was on and not hot to the touch, was it at least warm?

Have you checked the door seals? to be sure that they are tightly sealing no gaps anywhere.

Can you post a full model number, and the MFG Number from the model and serial tag?

#247839 Whirlpool GI5SVAXVL00 Refrigerator will not shut off, freezing food

#16 is the thermistor, you would need to remove the light components to gain access to it for testing. Looks like the one on the celing is where it will be. Also remove the front kick plate at the bottom, and look for the tech sheet, on the back of the kickplate grill or on the bottom right from the front, of the bottom of the cabinet. this will help with diagnosing the too cold, situation you are experiencing.W0808025-00002.png

#247312 Kenmore dishwasher not cleaning

Posted by Comstock_Services on 29 January 2013 - 03:09 PM

guys the Water in the Coastal Bend of Texas is so thick with deposits, you could sift it with a silt screen, and it still wouldn't be drinkable. But I will say that down here in the Corpus Christi area it's useless to have a dishwasher, cause it's just gonna be broke down in a couple of years, Wish I could get "detergent" with phosphate in it but it's all gone now, I've been recomending the Finnish Tablets cause they seem to work the best at my house, for phosphate free soap. CTG I'm sorry but I've always called it soap, when talking to customers, but I'll try to change :thanks:
