#296820 Random Sparking when Burners are off (Kenmore Gas Range Model# 79078511401)

Posted by BrntToast on 21 June 2014 - 09:45 AM

you say you renovated, any chance the wiring to the range could have been damaged during reno ?

try running an extension cord from a different outlet to the range for a day or so and see if the sparking continues

i'm with the samurai, random sparking can be bad/reversed supply voltage

#296171 Help with diag on Frigidaire side by side phs68ejsbo

Posted by BrntToast on 11 June 2014 - 05:57 PM

Frigidaire 2004 SxS Refrigerator with Genesis Controls

this manual is for both mechanical controls and the lovely genesis controls you have

you say the freezer is cold and you can feel a fan blowing into the FF compartment?

cause really, you should have cooling in the FF section then. unless.... something is blocking the return air vent behind the bottom crisper, remove that crisper and make sure nothing has fallen down there blocking the return vent(the fan will "blow" with the doors open, but soon as the doors are closed, the fan will not be able to circulate air between the 2 compartments

after that i'd be looking for proper damper operation

that manual page is open for public viewing and contains most older friggy manuals if you ever need one again

#295124 frigidaire front load won't spin

Posted by BrntToast on 01 June 2014 - 11:38 AM

i didn't know friggy had an out of balance signal

first thing you can do is remove the lid and back panel, there will be a tech sheet either on the top of the dispensor,or taped to the inside of the cabinet

try to run the diagnostics

carefull around the opening of the back panel, its very sharp

also.... while behind the machine with back panel off, grasp tub and rock it towards the white motor board, watch to see if the tub can come into contact with any of the wining harness, inspect that harness very closely looking for broken or crushed wires(the fine wires can get crushed, the wire breaks inside the insulation)

#295004 Electrolux Stacked washer FTF530FS1

step one, place machine in the spin cycle, wait 2 minutes(wether it spins or not)

now unplug the washer and try to open the door

if the door opens instantly, you need a door lock

#294914 washer is going crazy Kenmore 417.40412700

Posted by BrntToast on 29 May 2014 - 10:23 PM

kenmore model 417.....  made by frigidaire

you say you caught the machine filling and draining endlessly?

known frigidaire problem

you need a speed board, also called the motor control unit

and yup a bad speed board can do all sorts of flakey stuff

another symptom ....  timer knob gets stuck at around the 5 o'clock position

another common problem i saw with these machines.... the tub can go out of balance bad enough to smash into the bottom of the timer.

Remove washer lid, closely examine the bottom of the timer and where that molex plug connects there, look to see if it looks squashed or out of place

but filling and running the drain pump forever is the speed board for sure

frigidaire blamed this on electrical interferance comming from other outside sources, they say they modified later boards to prevent this

this was like 10 years ago or so

#294776 Rattle in Whirlpool duet washer wfw8640bw

Posted by BrntToast on 28 May 2014 - 05:17 PM

you cant really see between the spin basket/front drum very well

removing the bellows from the tubs gives a lil more room

last time i had the problem you describe, it was a dice, had been left in a pocket, made it in there, but not past the lip of the spin basket

#294774 Vintage 60's GE P7 Electric Range with Double Oven

Posted by BrntToast on 28 May 2014 - 05:06 PM

check the fuses, they are under the top cover or the trim where the utility plug is

the oven ones are 30amp(green)

you cant tell by looking at a fuse, need a meter,or a new fuse to test them

after fuses you will pull the unit out and remove the back panels looking for burnt wires in the control panel

#294575 Frigidaire washer LTF2140FS2 won't dispense fabric softener

Posted by BrntToast on 25 May 2014 - 03:56 PM

https://onedrive.liv...195&app=WordPdf

page 55 - page 58  describe the friggy dispensors

your welcome to bookmark my page, most of the older friggy manuals are all there, it should be set as public access

friggy are the only one i can think of that used this rather than just adding one extra valve to flush the softener like LG and samsung do

#294573 Whirlpool GX5SHDXVQ02 Refrigerator warm/Evap frosting up

Posted by BrntToast on 25 May 2014 - 03:45 PM

same here, no instructions in the replacement boards for programming

first test i do is turn the fridge off at the controls

most of the time i find the compressor is still running with the fridge turned off (stuck compressor relay)

#294568 Frigidaire washer LTF2140FS2 won't dispense fabric softener

Posted by BrntToast on 25 May 2014 - 03:11 PM

AM97 is correct

the friggy washers use both the hot and cold valve to dispense softener

the 2 flows collide and redirect the water to the softener

if the flow between hot and cold have too much of a diferential softener goes no where

fill washer once set for cold water, watch the water flow through the door

do this again with hot

now adjust the taps till both these flows look similar

run a load and see if softener dispenses after

this could be an easy fix that keeps you from having to change the valve

#294567 Whirlpool dryer ticking/clunking noise while spinning

Posted by BrntToast on 25 May 2014 - 03:00 PM

spin drum by hand slowly

pay attention to its position when you hear the noise

you may just have a dime stuck in one of the drum vanes

something in a vane will make the noise once a revolution

the noise from a roller or idler will be more rapid than once a drum revolution

if the noise is rapid, check the blower fan blade for a foreign object

gotta love the new LG flat rate

we are doing tub jobs all the time now

next LG rant... the new smart diagnostics

customers can download an error code not displayed on the user interface

but... LG tech support cant tell you what it means after over 1/2 hour on hold

*sigh*

John Q Customer

"well LG replaced my unit at a discounted rate 3 months ago cause you could not obtain the part to fix it"

great lg figured a work around for poor engineering

lets see how long this one works

has the main valve been changed at any time?
if so, the brown and tan lines are reversed
