Topics I've Started

Kenmore electric dryer 110.67732791

08 May 2014 - 04:41 PM

She pushes the start button and nothing happens. Belt is intact. Door switch seems OK. When selecting Timed Dry I can hear the timer motor ticking away.

Just BTW: the tech sheet schematic does not match what I see in the machine. This is cause for some concern.

Whirlpool electric oven RF315PXDN0 runaway burner

01 April 2014 - 11:26 AM

Intermittent problem (oh, noes!!)

Customer reports right front burner goes to red hot, as though set to "High", no matter what setting is selected. Also reports a glow behind the switch console while this is happening.

I was unable to replicate the problem.

My Inner Monkey wants to replace the switch and see what happens; but there is no blackening around the terminals or back panel, or char marks back there. Element reports 22 ohms. Input voltage is good. So what did I miss?

Amana Dryer ALG443RAW - motor death rattle?

30 December 2013 - 11:30 AM

Rattles loudly on startup, rattles quietly while running, rattles loudly on stop after the drum has stopped rotating. Fooled me into replacing rollers and idler wheel, which, if anything, made the rattle effect worse.

Motor/bearings?

Amana ALW480DAW - Squeak 'n leak

08 December 2013 - 06:45 AM

Customer says machine makes a noise at the end of the wash cycle and also she saw a puddle of water on the basement floor next to it.

I was unable to replicate the noise after running two cycles. There was no detectable leak, although the outline of the puddle was still clearly visible.

This machine is in like-new condition. I didn't see anything like corroded clamps or cracking hoses, everything looked brand new and spic and span.

Could it be we only make noise when the basket is loaded? And what could have caused that puddle?

Stunned and amazed!

How in the hell does an AC motor run off a 9 volt battery?
