GE Dishwasher GSD 2800G01

06 March 2011 - 03:02 PM

Just bought my dryer parts now time to deal with this pesky dishwasher problem of the last 3 months. Water heating seems hit or miss on this unit nowadays (mostly miss as more time goes by). It dries and does selected hot rinse no problem, but seems random (and decreasing) in its ability to heat incoming water for washing. I let the tap run until hot before starting machine, element is cold to touch when I open the door almost 100% of the time unless in drying or hot rinse cycle (seems like several weeks ago when trouble began sometimes it would heat okay but I could find no pattern). Any suggests appreciated.

It needs a lower washarm and I am starting to get nervous about sinking lots of money into it although my friends say it cleans better than the last 3 dishwashers they have bought and had to replace while mine kept on working (until now). Thanks!

Hate My Electric Cooktop!

07 September 2006 - 08:38 AM

I love to cook and have never met an electric cooktop that I liked, especially my Whirlpool Mod:RC8400XKN1 Ser:F72508775.  To be honest, I have never used a "newfangled" smooth-top, but I have the impression that any rapid pan pushing or cast iron cookery would destroy it quickly.  I resist introducing gas line and tank into my otherwise all electric house, and equally resist tossing a cooktop that technically works fine but is miserable to cook on due to slow resonse time and uneven heating of the pans. It also seems to be a big electric draw.

My query is this:  Are there any specific replacement elements for this stove that would save $ and cook better or should I toss the whole unit and move on??  If I did get another electric cooktop any recommends for style that favors the antics of an amatuer chef?

Thanks,

Dave
