GE Prodigy dryer part identification help

16 June 2013 - 07:50 PM

Hi all, my friend's GE Prodigy model DPXR483 has the upper plastic part inside the drum chipped which snags and tears clothes. Below is a picture (with the chip patched with scotch tape... for now). Is this the part? Does anyone have the service manual or disassembly tips? Would disassembly be roughly equivalent to the video pinned in this forum?

Thanks!

Small meaning roughly the "simmer" setting despite the control knob being on "high". I've already tried cleaning the flame ports on the burner to no avail. Any suggestions?
