Topics I've Started

Kenmore 317B6641P002 Range

23 July 2012 - 01:44 PM

I have a 7 year old gas range that is no longer getting hot in the oven. It started taking an hour to indicate that it was heating to 450. And then the food remains raw after a much longer time in the oven than it should take. It appears that nothing's happening for a couple of minutes when the oven is turned on - no light like before. And then when something finally does happen, it looks like its only happening on the left side. Right side remains dim. Help is much appreciated. I'm not sure I'm capable of fixing a gas range so I'm trying to determine if paying for an estimate - $75 - and future repairs is even worth it.

On a funny side note - we just replaced our fridge (broken condenser) with a new WHITE one to match the other appliances. Wife wanted stainless - didn't make sense right? So guess what - now range and dishwasher are both on fritz. Who's fault, you guessed it - mine. I'm sure some of you out there can share my pain!

thanks. Love this site.

Maytag Dishwasher MDBH955AWW Won't Clean Dishes

23 July 2012 - 11:31 AM

I have a four year old Maytag Dishwasher M/N MDBH955AWW that will no longer clean dishes. Symptoms: white residue, lots of food debris left on dishes. I've replaced the turbidity sensor on this unit about a year ago and tried cleaning solutions. That seemed to be an acceptable temp fix. But now there's just too much food debris left on the dishes. We're fairly vigilant about rinsing the dishes prior to loading, especially in light of this problem. We have hard water. The spray arms seem to get clogged with build up fairly often. Cleaning them still does not help. I've not taken the bottom of the unit apart to see what's going on there . . . maybe too much build up or a clog somewhere? Not sure I'd know how to do that. Any diagrams or help there would be appreciated. Thanks.

LG LFC25776SW Leaking Water

20 May 2012 - 10:25 AM

New LG fridge as of last Wednesday. Woke up Friday and Saturday morning to puddles of water underneath and around it. There is no moisture near the water line on the floor (back of the fridge), none on the water line itself, none at the water line connection on the fridge, and none on the line from the connection going to the icemaker. At least it appears there is no moisture in these areas or on these parts. The only moisture I see is in the drip pan underneath a white plastic tube leading down from inside the unit. I'm assuming this is collecting/disposing of condensation or something. There is moisture however - in the form of a big puddle - underneath the fridge. Any thoughts? An authorized LG service tech is coming out in 4 days. Thanks
