#230186 Admiral (Whirlpool) LNC 8750 a71 gas dryer - skips? intermittent motor?

Posted by Kelfin on 17 April 2012 - 12:23 AM

Thank you everyone! I pulled the dryer back apart tonight and discovered that the blower wheel center wasn't just rounded out - 2 of the 3 pieces of the core that wraps around the motor shaft had actually cracked completely off!

Cracked blower fan

As jumptrout predicted, getting the housing apart was actually pretty simple. I did have to spring for a set of socket wrenches in a smaller size (the housing was held on with bolts rather than screws) and retaining ring pliers, but something tells me those might come in handy again.

Here's the sweet sound of success
