#312191 Cause of oven element shorting

Posted by Dan Webster on 28 January 2015 - 12:01 PM

When you go to replace make damn sure the stove is unplugged because line 2 is straight wired directly to the bake and broil elements. Hence the continuous sparking even with the controls turned off. I have had many folks bring in a broken brand new bake element simply because they failed to remove power from machine. Replacement is easy. Take the screw off and gently pull out whats left of the old element and replace it with a new exact copy of said element. Making dang sure the power is off. Tip: some electric ovens you can remove the botttom drawer and reach the receptacle plug without moving the stove. -pawpaw

Old school belt driven washer with a motor that turns in only one direction. Relys on solenoids to shift from wash mode to spin mode. When it shifts a flap on the pump opens and drains out the water. Your flap is broken allowing water to leak out on wash. Seen it. You need another pump Kimosabe.

#305256 Vent free heaters and Fireplace inserts.

Posted by Dan Webster on 09 October 2014 - 07:06 PM

This is the time of year when the weather starts getting colder. many folks use for a back up or heating in general these wall mount vent free heaters. Over the summer when they are not in use they tend to get a small amount of dust in the pilot. When the heater is lit for the first time it may come on for a few minutes then go right back out. A simple matter of blowing out the pilot or flushing it out with a little rust buster will most times easily fix the problem. Easy peasy money for those of you who wish to delve into repair these units.
