Whirlpool Dryer Leaving Scorch marks on fabric WGD9371YW0

13 March 2015 - 04:36 PM

Mod WGD9371YW0  Ser  M23401992

The customer says this dryer is leaving burnt or scorch marks on the fabric.  The dryer held about 160 average with a high of 210 and a low of 120 degrees.  The felt seals on the drum look like new and there is no rust on the bulkhead where the drum seals ride. The blower housing is clean, and the air flow in the dryer is clear and strong.  The vent to the outside is not restricted and the airflow is good.  There is nothing obviously wrong with the dryer, its 3 years old and looks like new. The only thing I can think is it is coming from somewhere else and the customer thinks its form the dryer.   I watched it dryer an entire load of white sheets in 40 m, it worked great, everything was normal and there were no burnt spots.

I have seen rust and grease spots before but this does look like burt spots.  Does anyone have a suggestion?

Whirlpool GX5SHDXVD02 Will not defrost

16 February 2015 - 09:34 AM

Mod #  GX5SHDXVD02     Ser # KY2889884

Hi im back with another defrost problem.

1st trip.  Found evap frosted up, defrost thermostat was closed, I placed into a forced defrost and the heater came on.  I replaced the defrost thermostat.   Checked for air leaks and I found none.

2nd trip.  Found evap frosted up again, I placed into a forced defrost and the heater came on. I replaced the defrost thermostat and the board (programed the board).  Checked for air leaks and I found none.

Customer called today and said it is frosted up again.

What could I have missed?   The only 3 parts for the defrost are the board, thermostat, and heater.  There are no air leaks and the heater is working.

GE Monogram, Evap frosted up new model I thought this issues was fixed

15 February 2015 - 06:05 PM

Hi all, i'm working on a 2 year old GE Monogram  MOD# ZIS420NXB  SER# ZZ030484

It had frosted up. I jumped the plug and forced a defrost, the heater came on, I defrosted the coil with my handy dandy steamer, cleaned out the drain tube and put it back together.

Does anyone know of any known issues with the newer Monograms?  I have fixed several older monograms for the same problem.  I'm thinking I should changer the sensor, control board, and  insulation from under the evap drain pan.

Is there anything else I might be missing?   Is there any service bulletins from GE on this fridge?

KEMS378SSS0 F6 E0 the nightmare before Halloween

28 October 2014 - 07:38 AM

KEMS378SSS0  F6 E0 the nightmare before Halloween!   I can not find that mod and serial number tag any place on this unit.

When I arrived on the job I observed.

1. The bottom oven worked and operated normal.

2. The microwave was responsive but when you turned it on the magnatron, cavity light, fan and turntable were not responsive.

3. The display for the microwave worked fine and the time would count down when you turned on the microwave.

I checked the Diagnostics and found and F6 E0 in both displays.  The tech sheet said to check and reinsert the P2 harness between the lower oven UI and the microwave UI.  I did exactly that. This did not correct the problem.

I then removed and reinserted P10 on the microwave UI and it started working.   After that I could not duplicate the problem.

Has anyone ever experienced this before?  What should I do next?  Change the Microwave UI and the harness?   I feel like if I change these expensive parts it will probably not fix it.
