The description in the link you provided exactly matches what I am hearing and smelling. Is it a difficult job to get to the magnetron? I guess I might as well replace the bulb and door springs while I have it apart.

OK update. After pushing on pins 1 and 2 at the motor plug with the meter to double check DC from the switch pack the motor suddenly crackled to life. This things has been down for 6 months and now all of the sudden its working. I had already tried re-seating the plug itself with no luck. This is Bizzare but I will take it!

I did set the meter to DC originally The document I am working from is very specific about what should be 115 vac AND 115 vdc. Problem seems to be with the DC voltages. AC looks good at the motor but the DC does not

Is the inverter built into the switch pack? Are you saying the problem is in the inverter? That makes sense becuase the AC power to the motor on pins 3 and 5 is good but after that its messed up.
