RESOLUTION: The compressor was shot. Sears covered under warranty.

The original design has the tubing routed through the pan to speed evaporation. The line eventually ruptured, leaked freon, killed compressor.
Mechanic replaced compressor and tubing, which is now "coated" through pan. Decades of fridge design and no one throught of this? Sounds like planned obsolesence . . .

Thanks for all the help, gentlemen. Will continue to recommend this site to anyone who'll listen.

Yes, compressor fan
Not sure how to tell. It vibrates but that could be the fan...
Worked fine until it didn't - not moved or cleaned until two weeks ago.

I have an electrically handy friend coming by later. Anything we can meter to give a better diagnosis?

Replaced the start relay, same conditions; compressor cold to the touch.
How do I check if there's power to compressor? Any other things I might check?

Thanks for all the help, really appreciate it . . .

Tested resistance across the three pins on the compressor.

Does that help?
