Whirlpool Duet GHW9200L F9 code -- search results already tried

31 January 2013 - 11:07 PM

Ok, so I post about the dryer vent cleaning and the washer must be jealous at all the attention.

Washer is now throwing F9 codes and the frequency of the codes is increasing (2 for 2 today).

I did a search on F9 and found four previous posts, all with essentially the same response (and the same items the job aid below says to check).

I have the Job Aid L-68 (p/n 8178076) and have performed all the tests that I could.  - I have not taken the pressure switch out to check the hose or "proper operation".  I don't know how to check for proper operation and the job aid is silent on this as far as I can tell.  I suppose Occam's razor applies here...

- I've checked the drain hose and it is clear.

- I checked the wire harness connections to the drain pump, pressure switch, and CCU with my trust Fluke multimeter.

- I cleaned the drain pump filter (there is no boot to collect 'gookus', just a hard plastic 'filter').  It had minor gookus buildup.  Very minor.

- Given that the drain pump will pump just fine when you go to the drain/spin mode, I don't think it is it (though it ohms out at 16 ohms instead of 15 ohms with no power).

- I ran the "Diagnostic Test" on page 608 and all functioned well.

My wife said water was about 1/4 of the way up the clear front of the washer the one time she noticed it while it was still running.

Clothes have been a bit wetter than normal coming off the spin cycle, especially hand washables (soaking, water all over the floor when you take stuff out wet -- low spin setting).

The washer is level front to back and side to side.

Hopefully it is the pressure switch as that's the last thing I can test, assuming someone knows how to test it, etc.

Thanks for your help.

Precautionary Tale -- Clean your dryer vent

25 January 2013 - 02:18 PM

I had the air ducts in the house cleaned (bad allergies) and part of the service was to clean the dryer vent out.  I'm thinking:  "bah, I clean that out once a year and make sure there is no build up..."

My dryer vents straight up through the roof of my single story house.  It's a 14' run straight up.  Odd configuration and one I now strongly don't recommend.

Anyway, the guy gets up on the roof with his long brush and starts going to work running it up and down.  I live in Vegas and yet it looked like a Minnesota blizzard around my house.  Big chunks of lint and lots of lint dust flying all over the place as the technician did his thing.  I'd estimate a half-pound of lint total (that's a lot!).

So I dodged a bullet there with that amount of build up.  I have added regular dryer vent cleaning by a professional to my house maintenance list.

Hopefully, this will help others avoid a big problem.  Get your dryer vents cleaned please!

Whirlpool GHW 9200 (duet) circuit boards - free

10 February 2011 - 12:45 PM

My start button broke on my Whirlpool GHW 9200 washer when the plastic fatigued after 10 years of use. I had to order an entire assembled front panel including circuit boards as the plastic bits aren't available separately.

I will give my old circuit boards to anyone has a bad circuit board, or if any of the pros here want them. All I ask is that you pick up shipping costs and I'll send them to you. Otherwise, they go into my "might need this someday" pile and my wife gets more upset at me for keeping all this stuff.

Jenn-Air WW30430P Double Oven Door Alignment

17 January 2011 - 04:05 PM

The top oven (most used) of my Jenn-Air WW30430P double oven just barely closes. Sometimes I have to push the door closed to ensure that the light goes off.

I was wondering if there is an alignment that can be done or if it is new door hinge assembly time.

Thanks for the help!

Whirlpool Duet GHW9200LW - won't dispense soap!

14 June 2008 - 03:43 AM

I loaded the machine and added detergent and prewash, selected normal load and hit the prewash button followed by the start button.  I noticed that I didn't see any powder running out with the wash water fill.  Sure enough, it went through the entire cycle and the prewash powder and wash powder were still there.

Before I tear things apart, anyone been there, done that?
