1) some standing water is normal after a cycle
2) you have to capture the round impeller (I use a small screwdriver), in order to remove the center screw

You may be getting too much water in the basin. Does the float cut off the water fill?

Positve Temperature Coeffecient (PTC). The higher the temperature, the more resistance. Usually used in Compressor circuits, to lessen the current flowing through one of the windings as it runs.
