I have a 14 year old Maytag Performa. Nothing is wrong with it other than the plastic outer tub has a hole worn at the top of it and we can't wash large loads in it anymore. Other than that, it works fine. I'm just looking at updating the washer and dryer due to age and the fact that I'm starting to have to do repairs more often now.

No I have not measured the temp. I will do that sometime this weekend and get back to you. I know though, that it's not from usage. Nothing has changed around her usage wise, only in quantity of hot water.

Thank you. That's kinda what I was guessing. Next question is, I've tried to pry the lid up on it but it seems to be riveted down. How does this one come open?
