Need sanity check for Bosch Nexxt 500 repair

06 March 2009 - 10:15 AM

Hello. I have a Bosch Next 500 clothes washer, model WFMC3301UC/01. It has been stopping at various points during a wash, usually at a rinse or spin cycle.

I just got the repair manual here (thanks again!) and ran the various diagnostic tests.

The error codes that come up are:

d:09 - Voltage too high (motor control fault code)
d:18 - Peak voltage too high (motor control fault code)

The possible causes listed in the manual are "Faulty motor control", leading me to believe I should replace this part. It seems this is the correct part:

which is the motor control module.

So, just to check since I'm an amateur, is replacing this part likely to be the best course of action? Anything else I should consider?

I noticed that when I entered the washer's model number at the repairclinic parts site, it came up with "WFMC3301 UC/02" instead of "WFMC3301UC/01". I'm assuming this is a later revision than the machine I have. Would there be any problem using the part linked to above for my machine?
