GE Microwave Stopped Heating

10 February 2013 - 02:05 PM

Our GE Microwave (JES1460DN1WW which is less than 2 years old) stopped heating.  Turntable, fan, electronics seem to work fine.  Is this likely a magnatron failure or some minor internal fuse/part that's failed?

Thru-Door Water Doesn't Work but Ice Dispenser Does

27 December 2012 - 11:47 AM

Our GE side-by-side refrigerator [Model: GSS25QGTA-WW] stop dispensing water two days ago.  Water is plumbed through the back and goes through a filter inside the refrigerated compartment.  Filter was changed in October.  We can see that the light comes on when we hit the lever for a glass and can hear a solenoid-like click but not water.  Any insights on how to repair are welcomed.

GE Microwave Oven Buzzes/Zaps but Doesn't Cook: Model: JES1351WB003

14 November 2011 - 05:47 PM

Our 2003 vintage GE Microwave has started to zap. Sounds like something high energy zapping in the compartment to the right of the turntable. What's the failure? Does it pay to repair it at home vs buying a new one?

Maytag Dryer doesn't heat (LDE8304ACE)

10 October 2011 - 04:10 PM

Our dryer is 16 yrs old and now doesn't heat in order to dry clothes. Vents appear to be free of lint build up which I've tried to keep from building up over the years. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the elements in this dryer's heating unit so I can figure out whether I should be replacing a small part, like the thermal fuse or high-limit thermostat or should just replace the whole heater assembly?

Fill Valve on Kitchen Aid/Whirlpool Dishwasher Doesn't Close KUDM01T JWH1

28 June 2009 - 09:26 AM

After replacing the main pump, motor and sump, our dishwasher now runs much quieter than it has in the last year.  However, water will enter the washing chamber even when the unit is off/door is open.  I can only prevent water from overflowing onto the floor by shutting off the water supply to the unit.  Is this a case were I need to invest another $40 in a new 'Fill Valve Assembly'?  I have already tried tapping on it with a wrench in the hopes of loosening something that might be stuck?  When the dishwasher fills for a wash or rinse, the overflow switch seems to be working; mechanically: the float rises with the water level; the switch lever rises; I can hear a click but the water flow continues into the wash chamber until I shut off the supply valve under the sink.  This unit has no problem draining.  Insight is much appreciated!
