My freezer don't seem to work

18 July 2014 - 07:58 PM

"We have an old freezer that's not really cold enough" . . . . . They are great customers and great people. All I could do was scratch my head about how the hell do you defrost this thing?? It had to weigh 1000 pounds. I tried to tilt it and it wouldn't budge, I just started laughing.

Manitowoc Ice Machine

23 August 2013 - 06:48 PM

Anyone ever try to repair a control board on these? I've got one that goes straight into harvest mode after the first batch even if the ice sensor is removed from the board. I've scrubbed the board and changed all the relays on the board and still the same thing. I have a cap for it but not sure if changing it would do any good. Was hoping someone would know a work around for replacing a $600 board since the machine has some age on it already.

KUIC18PNTS0 Clean light on, dumps water

16 July 2013 - 10:34 PM

I have seen this problem a couple times but have never seen a fix for it. What happens is on power up the ice machine runs through the rinse cycle and then goes into ice production mode. . . for a few seconds, then drains the water from the troph. I've seen them with bad wiring connections at the troph sensor and low freon levels as well that I suspected. A buddy of mine says that he had one do this after taking the hoses loose off of the drain pump and then not getting it back on correctly. Can anyone explain what is going on to make the water empty out a few seconds into the ice production mode?

This last one that i'm fighting with has a full evap frost and no water in the troph when I got there and the clean/reset indicator light was red but i'm not sure what that really means. Is that light a timed light or an error light? The tech sheet was missing so I didn't put it into diag since I couldn't interpret the results other than the obvious pump running, fan running, "smart" valve letting water in (I won't use the word working here), compressor running. . .

Looking for a service manual Samsung RSG257AARS/XAA

20 October 2011 - 07:39 PM

Anyone got one? The red light on the main board flashes normal operation but compressor is not running. (I ohmed the compressor before I ordered the main board for it and it checked ok on the meter)When I got there the unit was lights on, nobody home. Meaning the lights were on and everything looked normal except no cooling or fans running. Replaced the main board and all of the fans powered up but the compressor was not running and no power was going to it. I was told that it may have taken a power surge because it went out in a bad storm and hasn't run since. That was 2 or 3 years ago and it's been sitting in the garage since. I'm thinking that the inverter board is out, but samsung shows the board is nla or not available yet depending on where you check. Part number is DA41-00411a and I'm not seeing a sub on it. Anyone have any suggestions or a service manual I could look at to try and figure this thing out?

Thanks in advance.
