Whirlpool Ice Maker ED5REXNl00 No Ice

My ice maker is not working. The water is in the fill tube in the back of the fridge up to about 3 inches. How can I test the water valve I think the issue is the valve is not opening to allow water into the ice maker.

Thanks in advance for the help
