Just to wrap this up - got the detailed instructions, and I am guessing it's foamed-in-place. take door off, cut gasket, pull in a certain way, cut rest of gasket, pull in a certain way all the way around. then somehow clean out the groove, don't go in any more than half inch, don't pry anything up or new gasket will not stay. Then install new one but careful to not push up on anything, etc. Be careful or you'll screw it up was the gist of it all.

Duct tape repair is holding fine after 45 days, you cannot see it, no air seepage. Box is about 10 years old. What the hell do you need in this case? Sent gasket back, it's $100.

Thanks to all who helped.

I highly recommend duct Tape! Highest recommondation! Cleaned up the area and dried it, most of the bottom section of gasket was torn loose and hanging (kids? who knows). Got a good width of duct tape on the underside of the door shelf and it stuck great to that, and to to the actual gasket and nestles it in place nicely. I do not feel any cold air seepage at all.

We'll see how that holds up to the cold etc over a couple days. But it sure seems ok so far.

Thanks. Went back to Repair Clinic, they have someone doing live chat today, and they located and are mailing the sheet - they had to dig for it, apparently. I have some foam insullation and duct tape to band-aid the failed portion of the gasket, which is small (I hope I can band aide it).

So then I'll evaluate it. But I see enough to tell they want you to remove the door, which is unlike any of the videos ect out there on how to do this. I am doubting it's "snap in". We'll see. Might have to call someone.

Thanks for the responses!

she pulled the old one off with 2 fingers, put the new one up against the door and it stuck on like magic. I didn't get her number.

I guess this should be closed. Got a bunch of guests thsi week, using the machine a lot and this noise became more intermittent, then disappeared entirely the past few runs. I'm not even going to consider fixing it, if it ain't broke. Probably something partially clogging up something and has worked free. On to replacing the antenna motor in the Integra.............Thanks
