#249960 GE GSS25LGMF WW Fridge Too Cold

those little damper doors break off the motor all the time. problem is, the motor is continued to be energized for a short time after the door is fully open or fully closed, and it stressed the plastic too much on the corner where it attaches to the motor. the replacements are made with stronger plastic doors to prevent it from happening again.

Yep, I had situations in the past where I only had a different kit on the truck (same fuse different harness) and replaced only the fuse. Always gets a call-back. Now I always have all the different fuse kits with me.

Don't forget the overlay, as sometimes they don't come off just right http://www.repaircli...umber=FGF355FSB

using a hair dryer to heat the adhesive around the edges, and a small pocket knife, I haven't had to buy an overlay in a long time.

Did you replace the wires that come with the thermal fuse?

I haven't yet run across one that needed a new harness, but from the wording of that, sounds like some out there have a slightly different harness/latch from the factory, and the replacement latch crosses to this one. So if the one you took out is the common one like pictured above, I wouldn't worry about the harness.

If you did have to have it moved out, in that scenario, ask the customer to have it done before you return, noting that the alternative is for you to charge them extra for you to do it. Don't short change yourself.

Completely agree. These VMW's are junk.

#247489 Maytag MLE2000AYW washer AND dryer broken

Posted by Anytime Nick on 31 January 2013 - 04:54 PM

those early neptunes were pretty notorious for bad wax motors on the door latch assembly. tends to also fry one of the resistors on the control board near the bottom left. this will cause it not to enter high spin. as far as the dryer, have you verified that there is NO heat? if it does heat and is not drying, could just be a clogged exhaust

- Make sure you turn the water off first.
- If your old valve uses the screw on connectors for the plastic lines, make sure you cut them nice and straight before you push them into the new connectors.
- When you reinstall your main water line, be careful to not cross thread it, and do not over tighten it.

Could not view the wire diagram on the sears site.....

Just a quick tip, on the page that shows the previews of all the diagrams, if you Right Click on the wire diagram one and select "View Image" it will bring up the full size diagram.

Smells like the timer to me, trying to energize the motor in forward & reverse at the same time.. then the motor gets hot and cuts out. Next time the washer is trying to spin, try pushing the timer in and pull it out again a few times, or smack the timer. Also inspect the contacts on the motor.

Yes, it is supposed to just float. Nothing should be attached to the bracket on the bottom, but the motor should be on the inside of the bracket.

Could just be that the motor popped out of place, and is sitting on the wrong side of the bracket that normally surrounds it. Seen that quite a bit from people moving them. Open up the front and take a look, if that's the case it will be pretty obvious.
