Topics I've Started

Amana NFW7300WW

17 April 2011 - 03:43 PM

I am in the market for a new washer and dryer. I will be stacking these on the ground floor on a concrete slab. I can get these from a wholesaler for under $900. Read that these are being made by Samsung and I have read bad things about Samsung. So with that being said does anyone have any advice abour this model? If you are against it what would you recommend in the same price range. I have read that you guys like the Whirlpool Duet but what model?

New Front Load Washer & Dryer

24 March 2011 - 09:29 AM

We are moving into a new house and the buyers of our current house wanted our current washer and dryer so I am in the market for a new set. I am looking for front load stackables hoping to stay below $1500 for the set. Did a little reading on Consumer Reports and thought I decided on the Kenmore 4027 Washer and matching dryer. But after reading some bad reviews about the violent shaking I am reconsidering. I was thinking that with the dryer on top it may alleviate this but it might make it worse and I think about 6 feet of washer and dryer falling over and making a complete mess.

So with this being said I am looking for advice on what to buy. I have heard good things about Bosch and am actually looking into one of their dishwashers.

We are also going to need a new refrigerator so and advice on that would also be appreciated.

GE TBX25PR Refrigerator not cooling

31 May 2010 - 03:21 PM

I have a GE Profile TBX25PR top freezer / refrigerator.  The fridge is not cooling but the freezer still freezes.  I do not think the freezer is as cold as it should be either but is keeping food and ice frozen.  There is a layer of frost on the back panel inside the freezer.  I assume I need to defrost the machine.  Also see quite a bit of water dripping from the machine.

What is causing this?  How do I fix it?  Please tell me it is easy.  I have already cleaned the coils and the fans but that didn't do anything.

GE JE160SF Microwave

12 October 2009 - 04:02 PM

My 2 year old microwave is having problems.  It fogged up the inside and the door now has two large bubbles in the plastic.  It also smells like something burning if run for more than a minute or so.  What is the problem?  GE has discontinued this model which sux cause we remodeled 2 years ago and all of our appliances match.  The current GE microwaves all have very bad reviews.  Is this microwave repairable and at what cost?  It still heats but my wife is very worried that the waves are coming thru the door and is scared to run it.

Can anyone recommend a new stainless microwave with trim kit?
