MDB5000AWA Maytag dishwasher drain impeller removal.

05 October 2013 - 02:38 PM

my maytag MDB5000AWA was making a lot of noise when pumping out the water.  Then it died.  I disassembled it down to the drain impeller, which I thought would pull out since there's no bolt in the top of it as there is in the top of the wash impeller..  How does it come out?

Maytag washer MVWC5ESWW1 won't complete a cycle.

17 October 2010 - 02:20 AM

My new Maytag washer MVWC5ESWW1 was just put in service a little over a week ago, on 10/5/10.  It stops at different points in the cycle.  A few times it has stopped after filling the tub for the wash and has been sitting with the dial still at the start of the cycle with a tub of water after several hours.  Now it has stopped short of the spin cycle with rinse water in the tub.  It ran a spin cycle after I set the dial manually to spin.

When it failed to run the cycle the first time, I checked the cold water inlet screen and cleaned that out.  It ran a few loads without problem, then started this thing of getting to the rinse and shutting down.  I'm wondering if there's something defective.

This is my first experience with the automated water level type machine, and I found that if I open the lid to see if it's filling, it hangs up and won't go past the initial fill of the wash cycle.

Maytag MDB5000awa diswasher doesn't wash.

24 November 2009 - 02:19 PM

My Maytag MBD5000awa dishwasher isn't washing.  It sounds as though it's purging the drain line at the start of a cycle, then sounds as though it's filling.  After that,  it will start spraying, but stops soon after andf just makes a humming noise for the rest of the wash cycle time.  When it gets to the rinse cycle, it makes the sound of a short purging of the drain line, thens hums while the timer runs down for the entire rinse cycle time.  There is no water in the machine at the time of the drain cycle.

I had a repairman out who said I needed a timer, then gave me an estimate that was only $30 short of the cost of a new Maytag.  I paid him for the service call and ordered a new timer and installed it.  The symptoms didn't change after the new timer was installed.

Any help will be appreciated.  Thanks,
