In Topic: Refrigeration by Candle Light no fun... Whirlpool GS6SHEXMT00 no interior lights

Well, part arrived, checked user control board -all readings well above 2K - so I popped in the new board.  Powered up and all is well, except for my credit card.  Turns out the reason the board failed is that one of the bulbs burned out-  VERY poor design on Whirlpool's part.  If it happens again, I think I will simply cut the wire and route it to AC bypassing the board all together.  Only reason I see for it being routed through the board is to turn out the lights after the door is open 5-10 minutes.  That is annoying anyway when I'm cleaning the fridge...

Thanks for all the help!

Quick Question-- would it be worth the effort to fuse the line?  How large of a fuse for 3 40w bulbs plus control panel lights.  1.5 amp?  Fast blow?

Thanks, ordered W10135090.

Which display board, on the ice/water unit or the temp controls in the fridge? Still have lights on the Ice/water unit, the temp control is dark with the rest of the fridge, but the unit is cooling properly if that means anything.

Is Part 1394052 the correct part? How do I find a parts list?

Thanks for the tip, but this is definitely in the tub. It's odd, now it comes and goes. I examined the docking ring as Pegi suggested, it looks fine, and I felt it and after that the noise went away. Now it's returned as I mentioned occasionally. Weird.

I guess the next step is to replace the O ring.
