Looking for "Hidden" cleaning cycle on whirlpool ghw9250mt2

11 September 2011 - 01:53 AM

Hope I'm posting in the correct area...

Looking for the mystery cycle for cleaning the early Whirlpool duets. Mine was built end of April 2004. This sequence works on lower end model from Oct. of 2004 but not on mine:

1.Push power button
2.select rinse/spin
3.select Low spin speed
4.select Warm/Cold water temp
5.set end of cycle to softer
6.push Extra rinse button 4 times

Door will lock and machine will run for 3 minutes. After 4 beeps check display AD add bleach 1c. first time 1/3 each successive use.

I've tried various combinations and none work. The service codes work, but that does not give the machine a good all over interior cleaning. Anyone have the "Secret Code"?

Refrigeration by Candle Light no fun... Whirlpool GS6SHEXMT00 no interior lights

26 January 2010 - 04:29 PM

The other day I was closing my fridge and before the door closed the lights went out.  Since then no interior lights on the fridge side, Freezer is OK.  Thought it was the switch but pulled it, with difficulty, checked fine.  3 40 watt interior lights plus lights on the controls are out.  Checked the schem. no fuse.  Do I have to replace the whole control board?

GE PDW7800J00cc dishwasher Odd rumbling sound

28 August 2009 - 08:22 PM

My Ge PWD7800 is making a weird sort of rumbling sound when it's washing, sort of sounds like the spray arm is loose.  But I pulled the spray arm out and ran it but it still makes the noise when washing, draining it's not there since the drain pump is running.

I guess the only thing it could be is the pump, it vaguely sounds like a cavitating pump.   Amy ideas/ solutions short of tearing everything apart?  Am I looking in the wrong area?

Kenmore Dryer 110.76954690 noise increase then stall

05 October 2008 - 10:51 AM

Ok, got a weird problem, thought I solved it, but no.  Thought I'd toss it out for the experts here.

Kemore gas dryer 110.76954690 intermittent problem over 6 to 8 months.  with heavy load strained to start but would, from time to time after 20-50 minutes a humming/ buzzing noise would increase and the dryer would stall.  It got progressively worse and last week would not keep running at all.  Drum turned easily if you are wondering.

Sears wanted $140 for the motor and a week to get, so I picked one up on eBay.  Unfortunately the blower was rusted on the shaft and I had to cut the shaft to get it off.  Needed a blower, again Sears did not have it, week + to get, got one from Repairparts Plus the next day, great service!

Anyway got everything back together, fired it up and it ran fine-- for about 20 minutes and them stalled again!  when I had it apart I lubed all the rollers with lithium grease and they rotated very well, checked the belt, it was fine, as was the tension roller.

So, what is it?    Did I get a bad motor? Why does the noise progressively increase before it cuts out?  HELP!

Maytag (fedder) dehumidifier dead, 3 years old

23 April 2008 - 09:19 AM

Got a 3 year old Maytag dehumidifier.  turned it on a few days ago, fan runs, compressor kicks in but it doesn't cool the coils.  Pulled it apart and no obvious problems, compressor was very hot though.

Called Maytag and they said it's made by Fetters and it really isn't their problem, and Fetters is in bankruptcy.  The consultant told me that since Maytag's name is on it they are arranging to stand behind it even though they technically don't have to. All well and good but they have no idea how long it will be before they get any resolution.  So in the mean time I'm without a badly needed dehumidifier.

Any ideas where to start looking?  If the compressor runs but is hot does that mean there is still coolant?
